EZchip acquires Tilera

Another Israeli takeover of a US company. Israeli microchip maker EZchip Semiconductor is to buy USA’s Tilera Corporation for $130 million. Tilera develops high-performance multi-core processors and intelligent network interface cards. Israel to fund applied engineering research

Israel’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Space plans to establish a new NIS 150 million a year fund (NIS 500,000-750,000 per project) to support applied research in engineering.
