Israel’s Agriculture Ministry’s R&D arm, the Volcani Institute, has developed a new variety of drought-resistant “super” wheat that can be grown in the Negev desert. They named it after field-crop expert Yakov (“Ya’akobi”) Inon, who was murdered on Oct 7 2023.
