Fourteen outstanding Israelis have been chosen to light the ceremonial torches at Israel’s official Independence Day ceremony at the Mount Herzl national cemetery in Jerusalem. They include hi-tech developers, entrepreneurs, top women achievers and aid workers. One of them, Lucy Aharish, is the first Hebrew-speaking Arab anchor on Israeli television.
