Ancient mask connects Israel to birth of civilization

Israeli archaeologists discovered a Neolithic 9,000-year-old stone mask – one of only 15 in the world – at Pnei Hever in Judea. Experts link stone masks to the transition from hunting and gathering into a domestic farming economy with ritual-religious activities.
