12th grader Yotam Budnik, from the city of Rehovot in central Israel, won gold at the 2026 International Olympiad in Informatics in Uzbekistan. Because he draped himself in the Israeli flag, the Olympiad organizers disqualified him. But he refused to hand back his medal and still has it.
