Israel’s Phantom GI is developing a device designed to create an ostomy under local anesthesia. It would relieve a blockage for inoperable bowel obstruction patients (some 55,000 per year in the USA). The PercStoma  device uses a needle puncture, local anesthesia and X-ray imaging.
