Mapping Israel’s mushrooms

1,000+ species of fungi grow in Israel – many with medicinal properties – but there isn’t a comprehensive mapping of their DNA. For his PhD, Israeli mycology enthusiast Elad Gillon launched a science initiative, enlisting foragers to collect wild mushrooms. The project then “mushroomed”!
