Adelsons sponsor 500 Ukrainian refugees

Members of the Adelson family, children of Dr. Miriam Adelson and the late Sheldon Adelson, recently sponsored flights for more than 500 Jewish Ukrainian refugees to find sanctuary in Israel. The flights were part of United Hatzalah’s Operation Orange Wings.

Luxury imports by the first Jewish kingdom

Israeli archeologists have discovered remnants of vanilla spice in wine jars bearing the symbol of trade from the Kingdom of Judah during the 7th century BCE first Temple period. The exotic spice originated in the far East and was unknown in the West until the time of Columbus.

Pesach in space

Israeli Astronaut Eytan Stibbe has taken a box of handmade shmurah (guarded) matzah and 4 cartons of grape juice to the International Space Station to observe the Jewish festival of Passover. Record-breaking matzah

Israeli President Isaac Herzog displayed at his Jerusalem residence the longest matzah in Israel and maybe the world. It is 6 meters long, 106 cm wide, 4 mm thick, weighs around 6 kg, contains over 119,000 perforations it took three hours to bake.

Doctor and dentist start their journey

Ancient amulet deciphered

An ancient amulet (see previously) has been dated to 1,200 BCE and contains the oldest Hebrew script ever found. It contains a curse and the holy name of God. It was found on Mount Ebal, where the Children of Israel issued curses in the Bible (Deut. Ch.27/28 & Joshua ch.8 v 34)

10,000 immigrants in one month

Sasha from Kharkiv, Ukraine, was the 10,000th new immigrant to Israel from the former Soviet Union (Ukraine, Russia and Belarus) in the last month. Dr Katia Kirplok was the 5,000th new immigrant from Ukraine.
