When Israeli star musician Idan Raichel performed in Ramat Gan, he admitted to the audience that he had forgotten to buy diapers for his twin 2-year-old boys. At the end of the concert, Ramat Gan’s Mayor presented Idan with a pack of diapers. And when he got backstage, he found two more packs, bought by fans.

111 new Ethiopian Olim

A group of 111 new immigrants from Ethiopia have arrived in Israel, joining more than 95,000 Ethiopian Olim including previous Operations 8,000 (Moses 1984), 14,000 (Solomon 1991), 7,000 (Doves Wings 2013), and so far 2,250 (Zur 2020-23).

Free entry to National Parks for Gaza border residents

People living within 40 km of the Gaza Strip will be granted free entry into Israel's national parks and gardens, including the night parking lots. The purpose is to allow them to have a respite over the weekend.

King Charles is anointed with Jerusalem oil

The oil used to crown King Charles III on May 6th comes from the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, Israel. Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, noted the “deep historic link” between the oil for the coronation and that of biblical kings.

The latest edition of the annual Democracy Index from the prestigious Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) ranks Israel 23rd of 167 countries. Israel is by far the most democratic country in the Middle East, and it is also ahead of Spain, Portugal, Italy, and the United States.
