Israel’s Verto has developed AI-driven 3D visualization technology that creates a fully-fledged 360-degrees 3D video image of any item from just a few pictures taken from any smartphone. Verto has begun a 2-month joint venture with the Israel Diamond Exchange.

A good clean fight

New York is holding another Smart Energy Challenge for Israeli startup technology companies to help solve the state’s utility challenges. Last year’s winner was Israel’s Prisma Photonics (see previously) with its “real-time transmission line issue” detection system.

A sustainable partnership

Israel’s UBQ (see previously) has partnered Mexican plastic polymer producer, Resirene, to create a sustainable, UBQ-infused polystyrene material. UBQ will now be able to recycle waste plastic into new end-products, in addition to those produced from its current thermoplastic material.

Sugar-reduced chocolate chip

Incredo Sugar from Israel’s DouxMatok (see previously) makes Blommer Chocolate Company’s chocolate-flavored chips 50% less sugar and fewer calories compared to traditional chocolate chips. Blommer is the largest cocoa processor and chocolate ingredient supplier in North America.

Another reduced-sugar juice

Israel’s Better Juice (see previously) is being challenged by Israel’s BlueTree. Its innovative technology selectively removes sugars from sucrose without affecting taste.

Grow your own vegetables in a box

A previous newsletter (see ) featured the Living Box hydroponic farm in a box. Now another Israeli company AgwaFarm has developed the AgwaGarden with 59 seed “slots” LEDs and AI for tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, arugula, and even strawberries - enough for a small family.

Israeli tech in first US autonomous store

The world's first fully autonomous store Nourish + Bloom Market has opened in Fayetteville, Georgia. It features the Smart Shelf weighing system developed by Israel’s Shekel (see previously).

Discovery may help combat locust swarms

Researchers at Tel Aviv University and Haifa University have found that a locust’s bacterial composition in its gut, called a microbiome, goes through drastic changes when the host insect joins a larger group.  The discovery could help develop new ways to prevent plagues of locusts.

Teens develop “learn by video” app

After school, two Israelis, Yaniv (15) and Eyal (17) have developed the app LOLstudy, which could change education as we know it. They realized that today’s generation learns through videos. Any textbook is uploaded to a TikTok-like website where teenagers turn it into a fun video.

What’s the damage?

Two Israeli startups are using imaging technology to help assess damage on rental cars. Click-ins (see previously) uses AI to compare pre- and post-rental pictures. Spinframe Technologies provides 360-degree photo tech for vehicle marketing and operations, including visual damage monitoring.
