“Jerusalem” for Guatemala volcano survivors
Israeli medical NGO Zaka is working with the Guatemala Jewish community to build 100 homes for evacuees from the recent Guatemala volcano eruption. The homes have been named, “The Jerusalem Neighborhood” and those completed are already housing affected families.

Funding for hi-tech haredi and Arabs
Israeli startups in the ultra-Orthodox sector will now be eligible for government funding of over 70% of their research and development costs – up to NIS 7 million over two years. A similar scheme is soon to be introduced to encourage Arab entrepreneurs to enter the hi-tech industry.
