Israeli photos for US theme parks

Israel’s Pomvom (see previously) has won a tender from US amusement park chain Six Flags to provide its digital photography solutions to eleven of its theme parks over the next five years. With over 13 million visitors in 2019, the deal is potentially worth around $21 million.

Expanding tourism with Bulgaria

The Tourism Ministers of Israel and Bulgaria have signed a cooperation agreement. 200,000 Israelis visited Bulgaria in 2019 and almost as many visited last year. Bulgaria Air currently operates four flights a week between Sofia and Tel Aviv while Israel’s El Al offers three.

Record number of new companies in 2022

In the first 11 months of 2022, the Israeli Tax Authority registered 142,100 new companies - over twice as many as in 2021, when 64,900 businesses were created. Many employees laid off during the Covid-19 pandemic have now started their own companies.

A quantum leap

Israel’s Quantum Machines (see previously) has increased its customer base to 280 facilities in 23 countries. Its technology now powers a large portion of the quantum computers operated by cloud providers, research labs, national centers, and high-performance computing (HPC) centers.

Israel’s myInterview (see previously) has now more than 10,000 customers, including 7-Eleven, Ocado, and Facebook. It has facilitated over 7 million candidate interviews since its founding in 2016. It is especially popular among young candidates applying for customer-facing jobs.

Green bonds

Israel has sold $2 billion of 10-year green bonds, to support its goal of a zero-emissions economy by 2050. Israel is the 24th country around the world to sell green bonds, which are geared to fund key environmental objectives. The sale was so popular that it was oversubscribed by six times the amount on offer.

Israel’s most promising startup

Israel’s proteanTecs (see previously) is Globes' Most Promising Israeli Startup 2022, chosen by leading local and foreign investment firms. proteanTecs' founders also co-founded Mellanox which topped the Globes' ranking in 2005, eventually being acquired by NVIDIA for $6.9 billion.
