Saving lives on the Autobahn

Israel’s Autotalks (see previously) is partnering Germany’s Afusoft to deploy Autotalk’s V2X chipsets at roadside traffic signals along Germany’s autobahn. It will be Germany’s first fully functional V2X (Vehicle to Anything) project in Germany, aimed at saving lives on the federal highway.

World’s largest wave power plant

Israel’s Eco Wave Power (EWP - see previously) is to build the world’s largest-ever wave power plant at Ordu, on Turkey’s Black Sea coast. EWP signed a deal with Turkey’s Oren Ordu Enerji that will eventually create a 77MW plant costing $150 million.

Top deal for TopGum

Israel’s TopGum (see previously) says it has inked a five-year agreement to develop nutritional supplements for a “large international corporate worth of over $150 billion that produces and markets its products in about 200 countries”.

$245 million to invest

Israel’s 10D Venture Capital focuses on investing in Israeli companies based on deep technology and new business models. 10D has just raised $245 million for two new funds, including a $185 million early-stage fund that has already made investments in four companies currently still in stealth mode.

Free Trade Agreement with UAE is ratified

Israeli and United Arab Emirates parliaments have formally ratified the free trade agreement that they signed in May. The FTA eliminates or reduces tariffs on 96% of products traded between the two countries.

Israeli importers meet Turkish exporters in Istanbul

A delegation of some 100 Israeli importers visited Istanbul for B2B meetings with some 400 Turkish exporters. The aim is to reduce the cost to Israelis of food, cosmetics, construction materials, toys, baby products, furniture, textiles, household equipment and much more.

Technical help for startups

Israel’s Hetz Ventures (see previously) has launched Hetz Executive Network, 200+ industry experts to help early-stage Israeli technical startups. It offers access to management-level leadership across engineering, R&D, security, data, product, and finance departments at large companies.

More funding for hi-tech training

The Israel Innovation Authority is providing NIS 17.6 million to train and place 2,550 people into Israel’s high-tech industry over the next two years. It has selected 15 schemes, targeted ex-pats and new immigrants and focused on areas such as bio-convergence, medical big data, and food tech.
