Development of Apple’s M1 microprocessor for desktops and laptops was led by Israeli Johny Srouji with part of his team based in Israel. The M1 is Apple’s first in-house built laptop chip in its 36-year history. It powers Apple’s new laptops, the MacBook Air, Mac mini and MacBook Pro.
